Sumomo was my finals costume for Clara Cow’s Cosplay Cup, to go with PopcornKuma as Chii! For being such a simple looking costume, it took a lot of time and effort to pattern and make this little marshmallow.

The costume is made from 100% polyester for the baby pink sleeves, trousers and sash, short pile stretch velveteen for the bodysuit and lots of wadding for support. The main “bodysuit” is sewn as all one piece, with the sleeves and legs sewn in place so there aren’t any gross seam lines and it’s fully flexible for all her crazy movements!

The hat is made from fosshape, covered in batting and then fabric. The choker is made from black worbla covered in velveteen and secured with a hook & bar fastening. The sash was gradient dyed using iDye Poly in “Pink” and “Crimson”, also used to darken the beads for the trim. Most of this costume was handsewn with help from my sister, then reinforced by machine to get an accurate fit.
